Checking in on the Puppies

Well, I have been enchanted by the babies. Won't say much, but here are a few pics from my new iPhone!

Business as Usual

If business got all cuted up, that is! Spoke with Mom on the phone today as she stood vigil by the pups. Seems they are still perfecting their walking skills-more like toddlers than Bambi on ice. They are not at constant nursing as before, and about a week out from some dry food. As I spoke to Mom she was video taping them. Seems they can nurse at any angle-are the super dog lessons making for super nursers? Are we training a race of super counter surfers? Should we question this absolute trust in powerful technologies which may come to dominate us?

What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor?

And what do you do with six of them? The puppies eyes are actually not all the way open, but that doesn't stop them from marching foreward, regardless. Funny thing is, more often than not their back legs are more sure than their front-to get the full picture think wheelbarrows...and Bambi. Mom said they had them all lined up for a photo the other day and they all came lurching forward like drunken sailors on shore leave. "Well it's all for me grog, me jolly, jolly grog..."
I think Mom and Dad's computer is still down and we learned here on the left coast that our driver's moving truck broke down in Redding today, so it'll be late Tues., or Wed. before I can go back to the Hediyeh blog proper for new entries. There should me at least one other here before then. 'Night!

Jeepers Creepers

Where'd you get those peepers? Their little eyes are beginning to open up to slits, soon to be wide open to take in the world. What will that change in their experience? Will they see their brothers and sisters in a different light? Will they be drawn into the world by their eyes, becconed by a thousand invitations to play? Speaking of seeing, Mom and Dad's computer is still on the blink, so it'll be a couple of days before we can share with you the photos they took today of these last hours of shut eyes. But soon we'll be back to normal. My family is shuttling South through a mountain pass in California as I write. California, I'm comin home.

Super Dogs

Well, for those who've jogged over to the Annex, hello! My computer was disconnected day before yesterday and Mom and Dad's computer is down, so we're relying on our peripherals...except now Mom's Blackberry is acting cantankerous...but we'll try to put up some more puppies before too long. I did speak to Mom today about how the hearts are doing. She is doing the Super Dogs program with them. I had never heard of it before, but she explained that you have a window of opportunity between day three and sixteen to impliment it. It is like astronaut training for puppies. Seriously, it was used for law enforcement animals, I think she said. It involves manipulating the puppies in normally disorienting positions so they have a higher tolerance for the unusual. I am sure many people following this blog know all about it, but it was fascinating news to me. At any rate, after several days of this training, the puppies were undaunted about being flipped around for their first toenail trimmings. Mom said, just think how many pairs of toenails that is!
